Has anyone set up their system with Intel RST? Just curious if adding another small m.2 drive to my incoming laptop as a caching drive to speed up the HDD still works?

The load difference from the caching drive is enough that I will def miss it.

    TY in a advance.

You're talking about Intel Smart Response Tech, its not worth it. Leave your SSD as it is. Install a big enough 256GB and install all your apps the speedup is huge than caching.

I wouldn't be using the main SSD for that. Windows and the main programs will go onto the main SSD. I will purchase a small m.2 for the caching. I have been using a caching drive for 3 years on my R1 and not having it makes a big difference.

What about SSHD from seagate or WD? I don't think Dell provides SRT software. You'd need to check Station driver's driver section that is compatible with your chipset.
