My oem pm951 Samsung has some type of issue. I never tried before but I cannot run 2 m.2 at the same time without the secondary drive disappearing after the first restart.
Anyone else have this issue or could it be the ssd are not playing nice together? The bios is set to ahci not raid. Maybe I need raid to run 2 x m.2 ssd plus a sata ssd?
Wondering if the controller is flaky and I should get rid of computer? I dont want to get stuck with a busted laptop/paperweight

I'm not seeing this issue after a cold restart having gone through the bios and setting my clock/date and then saving/exiting.
I saw this just a couple times after fresh installs... that was about it.
Maybe reseat the drive(s) to be sure.
I've read else where on Dell support forums that if you use different m.2/nvme drives on the same laptop, it can have issues. I'm running latest 1.8 bios and not seen an issue in a couple of weeks. -
Ya I tried the drives in both slots and same problem. I put it up for sale so if it sells I will move to a better machine.

I started having this issue again after I put in my new battery.
I think what is happening is that the UEFI is not "finding" the NVME drive in the second bay due to either "flea power" or it didn't reset correctly.
https://www.dell.com/support/manual...rn off your computer.,to drain the flea power.
This might be related to the brand of NVME drive or to a power issue.
How I get around this is to boot into Windows 10, then do a power off. Then I can boot back into Grub on my Ubuntu drive.
Very odd. My boot order is grub on ubuntu, I have the default for it boot into Windows, but, I can select Ubuntu 20.04 from the boot list.Vasudev likes this.
