Hi guys need some advice please I have a 17 r4 and mg understanding is at the rear next to the HDMI input is a USB type C connector.

I have a USB hub and have just purchased an oculus rift (incredible), my main question is, is it safe to have all these being powered from that tiny tiny port? The last thing I want to do is try the motherboard....

    Cheers all in advance

Yes its fine, USB C and Thunderbolt (The one in the back) move more power then OLD USB 3 or 2. Your fine.

    This Link

USB 3.1 is backward-compatible with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. USB 3.1 has three power profiles (according to USB Power Delivery Specification), and allows larger devices to draw power from a host: up to 2A at 5V (for a power consumption of up to 10W), and optionally up to 5A at either 12V (60W) or 20V (100W).

So there is no chance of it blowing my motherboard with 4 USB hooked up to the port? 2 sensors the rift headset and keyboard?

No, There is really no way to over load the circuit, it will only pump out so much before it simply wont give the hub anymore power. Frankly, if everything is powered up and running correct you are fine.
