    Hey guys!
My 17 R4 has had nonstop issues from the start. It came with the updated vBIOS and I think that's the root of the issue.
Does anyone have the stock vBIOS still? And is there a way to force flash it with the old one?
If not, can I force re-flash with the latest one? When I try it it says it's already updated and won't flash it again.

    Thanks a lot!

    Yeah straight from Dell.

I tried running 1080oc8f.exe /force it, or with /s /f to try and force the flash again but no success

    You can try filename.exe /s /f or filename.exe /forceit
But I would only do it if I was sure it would work and I got a BIOS exactly for my config (I have the 7820)

have either of you guys checked the power delivery circuit, FET, chokes thermal pad contacts with the heatsink? the majority of us who knows what we are doing are running the OC vbios have no issues.

I understand the problem came after flashing the OC vbios, but you need to understand what's going on in electronics level. The new OC vbios allows more power to be supplied to the GPU, thus higher current draw, more stress and heat generated on the power delivery circuits, which in turns heat up a lot faster and a lot more. there will be even less tolerance for poor or no thermal pad contacts with the heatsink.

I replaced the thermal pads and the cooling system several times. This did not help.

    Something is wrong?

if you followed iunlock's thermal pad placement guide blindly, you might run into problems. From my own experience, not all the thermal pads fit the gap he recommended. you need to visually inspect every single one of them and make sure there is absolutely no gap in between when you lock down the heatsink.

anyway, if you have already done so, it could be a manufacturing defect.

I repasted 3 times, with Noctua, Kryo and Conductonaut. Got good thermal pads and checked every single connection with the heatsink, even did the PCH mod. Still happens
