I had the exact same issue when I installed the 960 evo over Christmas. I didn't do any respasting, or disconnecting/reconnecting power. The symptom I got was exactly the same, two red, one blue. I ended up powering down, disconnecting all my other drives, except the 960 evo. Then powering up, all was well. Then shutting it down, and adding one more, powering up, all is good. Then shutting down and adding the third. The issue hasn't returned, but I did notice that one of my drives had the same drive letter as another, so I had to assign a new drive letter for it to be seen in Disk Management. After that, no issues (at least with that, I still have heating issues like you).

I'm not saying this is the same problem, but my symptom was certainly the same.

I also had the exact same issue right after my liquid metal re-paste (the same day). It appears that my bios had crashed. I took out the power plug for 15 minutes and I pressed the power button for 20 seconds several times until I managed to recover it and then I reinstalled the bios. I never had this happen again after I reinstalled and updated the bios, and I have been using the laptop every day for two months now.

sorry for my poor english, power plug you mean the battery plug or ac adapter plug? and how do you hold the button? hold 20s, release a few second and hold again? then you successfully boot into windows and update the bios? it seems like we have the same issue, thanks.
also thank you barry, I tried, not work for me

I only removed the ac adapter plug, but tbh you should also remove the battery to make sure that everything is reset and cooled down. For the power button I was holding it for around 20 seconds, then released, and then hold again 3-4 times. It turned on and I managed to get into the bios and then into windows to reinstall or update the bios.

When it happened to me, the light turned on for 0,1 second and instantly turned off. After a few tries, I got a bios error but luckily I managed to get into windows to update it.

If I were you, I'd open it up to check for any liquid metal leakage. Then re-seat the cables til I can get it booted. Check to see if you had accidentally bumped the monitor cable or not.

Also try to power it on without the power plug (i.e. on battery mode) to see if it helps.

Right, make sure you ground your PC before you do that (unplug battery and AC adapter then hold down alienware power button for 10-20s then release).

You might not have plugged the CMOS battery cable in all the way.

think you guys...... i run diagnostics and it stuck on the memory part. i found theres a very little bit of liquid metal on my ram, i buy a new ram and now my computer is fine. (i cant find 2400 ram at local shop, but turns out 2133 is useable on 6820hk system) guys be extra careful with liquid metal........the stock ram didnt have any burn mark but it just dont work

buy alcohol and submerge your original ram in it

when 24 hour inside the alcohol it should remove the LM from ram

let it dry in front of a fan for a full 24 hour then put it inside a bag of rice for 48-72 hour to fully remove the alcohol

your ram should hopefully work by now

if LM doesn't cause any burn mark, it most likely triggered a short circuit safety, so your original ram will still be usable
