Hey guys, got a 15R3 yesterday.

Had awesome temps out of the box...like 70-75 max after a bunch of OCCT.

I raided some nvme drives, reinstalled windows, and updated the BIOS (1.0.8 I believe).

Now the temps can hit 90, average seems a bit lower, but the fan profile is way out of wack now. Fans are on 100% of the time, which isn't terrible, but when browsing I'd like them silent.

Any idea what the culprit could be? Should I reinstall again and just use the Alienware image?

What is the average you're getting? As the spikes can happen every now and then, but the current line-up are quite good at lowering their temps after a heat spike

Make sure Windows isn't set to multiple displays (press Windows key + P). That was raising my idle temps by about 15C for both CPU and GPU

That must be it I've got it hooked to a 4k monitor, and running hwinfo on the laptop screen. I had it in bed and it was 32c with the blankets blocking the intakes while browsing
