    I recently purchased a 15r2 off of a guy, it has a dud battery (1% not charging, need to spend 100$~ to get a new battery, but cant afford that at the moment) But it works decently other than that, 965m in it, 16gb ram. but after opening HWinfo64, i noticed my cpu wouldnt go over 800Mhz clock speed, even if i use cpu stress tests. 40C-50C temps, so throttling shouldn't be the reason. any help would be highly appreciated :)

    Hi,
    i had the same problem on my AW 17 R2
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/cpu-always-below-0-78-ghz.805290/

    1) reset the bios parameters to factory
    2) update the bios

    => cpu speed fixed after the bios update

    ps: battery not charging should be fixed too,
    but i'm afraid you need a battery with at least 10% in order to update the bios;
    maybe you have to borrow one, for the bios update
