Yet another motherboard and heatsink replacement! Does anyone know how you can tell if the motherboard has Samsung or Hynix memory for the video card besides actually installing it? Right now I have Samsung memory and am worried the replacement motherboard will not!

Where are you getting the motherboard from?

You can request specific I think, just ask to be directed to the highest level manager.

If not you can keep complaining of crashes / errors / weird behavior of motherboard to get a replacement. Continual replacement is Dell's hobby.

I only have three weeks left for the warranty then I will be selling the laptop! I don't think they will care! I was surprised they even bothered to do a motherboard replacement again after having 6 motherboards replaced and 2 system exchanges already! My goal was to get a better heatsink before the end of my warranty before I sell it!

Have you tried contacting the higher level manager?

I have but they say one thing and do another (like two idiots at a grade 7 dance)! The lady I spoke to the other day about the rising heat issues let the cat out of the bag by telling me that the replacement laptops were actually refurbished (verified by service tags numbers) ! The first replacement was owned by a guy maned Neil and the second one was owned by Mr Woo I guess some Chinese guy! I am still looking for the answer to my first question " Does anyone know how you can tell if the motherboard has Samsung or Hynix memory for the video card besides actually installing it?"

Youl'll only know once you'll look at it's GPU Memory modules. Hynix or Samsung are written on it.

Not always true. I received a new system. You know pretty much for sure if it takes at least a week for it to be shipped and if it comes from china it is a new system
