Alienware 15 R3/ Alienware 17 R4 Beta BIOS (Download Link)
It's supposed to fix thermal shutdowns for those with the i7-6820HK + GTX 1070.
EDIT: Umm... I don't know why the title says R3 after Alienware 17. I meant Alienware 17 R4. Sorry for the confusion.
EDIT 2: It's fixed now. Don't know how, but thanks to whoever fixed it.

I'm asking about what's with the problems/issues about downloading it.
EDIT: New link. Now the file is in a zipped folder, so no need for 7-Zip.

    hello,

anyone know if the bios 1.0.6 improves the 6700HQ temps also ? Do you have any date fot the releave version of this bios ?

When I received the 6700HQ it was running hot but I repasted and undervolted the thing removed 19°C.

But yeah at first it was shocking to see the GPU running so cold and the CPU not...i knew something was wrong with the bios but I really hope Alienware didn't just fix the 6820HK, because even if the 6700HQ doesn't throttle or shutdown it has the SAME bios bug : bad fan tables (?)

All I know is that it's only for the laptops with the i7-6820HK and GTX 1070. I'm just a messenger.

So they're just modifying the behaviour of the 6820HK even if the 6700HQ shares the same faulty fan table :), that's good to know. But I know you're just a messenger don't worry ^^, thanks for the info I guess a bios is on the way. Maybe the full 1.0.6 will affect all laptops.

I tested this 1.0.6 beta bios and I am getting higher temps and several BSODs in windows 10 as soon as I overclock around 4ghz. I went back to 1.0.2 bios which is stable even above 4.3ghz.
