Just sharing a picture I took when repasting my GTX1080 AMP after 10 months of heavy use.
This is a desktop GPU that has a TDP limit of 278w and regularly hovers at 200w when gaming.
There has been no temp degradation since day one, 24c ambient and 55-58c load temps.
Removal.
After removal of liquid metal, you can see that the copper has been permeated and the liquid metal bonds over time.
This means that the thermal contact is better the longer you let the liquid metal stay there.
The heatsink has been scratched lightly with high grit sandpaper, ensuring better liquid metal retention.
