Hi,
I wanted to ask you guys what are the impression on the Alienware 15 R2. How well does it perform compared to R1, are there any issues specific on the R2, just like the R1 had the ghosting issue on 1080p monitor. Also are these standard delivered with 240Watt PSU?
Now I'm an owner of the alienware 15 R1 but there are two things that still troubles me about it:
1. There was no QWERTY keyboard when I ordered mine so I went for the AZERTY variant. Even though in my country AZERTY is standard I use qwerty.
2. The ghosting is something I learned to live with, but it's still present and still quite annoying on certain games.
For the R2, I see that the qwerty is back available in my country, and I suppose the ghosting is fixed? need confirmation on that.
However there are some interesting plus sides on the R2 compared to the R1 which makes it very interesting for me, such as the DDR4 ram, PCI-E bases M.2 slot (because I want to buy the samsung 950 PRO), 8GB VRAM in the 980m (I have the 980M 4GB currently) and an antiglare 4K screen WITHOUT touchscreen which makes it also cheaper (also how does the 4K screen perform? how well is color reproduction? Does it have ghosting? Does it suffer from light bleeding? How are the black values?).
Because I'm still under warranty and if they fixed the ghosting, I thought I might return my pc and buy the new one paying the difference.

Keep in mind that the newer 1080p panel is less bright, I'd say they are using a cheaper panel so I wouldn't expect miracles out of it when it comes to ghosting.
If the 4k panel is the same as the one on the XPS 15 that means the panel tech is IGZO and so the white point is on the cold side. Aside from that, Mobiletechreview claims 100% srgb and 99% adobe RGB which is quite rare on a laptop.
I don't own the r2 but I'd say, if you can afford it, go for it.
