    Hi guys how are you?

    Well im having some headaches since im trying to install my brand new samsung ssd 960 EVO, in my AW15R3.

    After installing it, and disconnect my HDD (i only have the SSD connected on it), when i boot windows, it doesnt reconize the SSD to install the OS.

    So, i did like this 2 tutorials i was following:

    a) http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...up-your-samsung-950-pro-m-2-ssd-17-r3.787205/

    b) https://latam.alienwarearena.com/uc...n-samsung-950-pro-nvme-ssd-on-alienware-17-r3

    And some tips @Vasudev talked to me on private.

    So i set BIOS do AHCI and went forward. I downloaded the Intel Rapid Storage drivers (one copy from dell, and another copy directly from intel website), and extracted in folders and saved in a USB.

    When i got that screen on Windows install, i selected first Intel Rapid folder (dell's driver) clicked next, but then, it keeps loading and loading, and says "NO NEW DRIVER FOUND. CHECK IF MEDIA CONTAINS THE RIGHT DRIVERS".

    Then, i tried the folder with the Intel Rapid Storage driver's downloaded directly from Intel, but same error.

    I decided to reboot computer, and change back do RAID. Repeated the steps i described, but also SAME ERROR !!!!

    Does anyone knows how can i install OS on my SSD? I though it was going to be so easy but now.....
    Do i haave to change anything else on BIOS?

    Help please guys. @iunlock , @illuMinniti , @Vasudev , @Mobius 1 and all the community

    p.s: my bios detected normally the samsung 960 EVO.

    Is this why the problem is occuring? because windows version ?

    serial is wiped off the motherboard but you are able to save the number and use it when you reinstall windows 10 home and selling the laptop

    windows 10 enterprise use a serial key, pm me to get this going

    i pmed you @Mobius 1

    Another question: do you think this problem is only because the windows version? i downloaded the one from microsoft tool....if i use another version, maybe it will work?

    another question: if i use the .exe samsung ssde driver from samsung, and try to run it when windows asks the driver, maybe this can make it work?

    also: should i go for AHCI or RAID?

    WELL HELL I DID IT !!!! HAHAHA windows detected the SSD without installing any rapid storage, and installed normally. Finally finally

    BUT ONLY WORKED WITH THE VERSION FROM THAT WEBSITE ( Win 10 Home Single PTBR 64bits REDSTONE1) !!!

    Download link > https://tb.rg-adguard.net/index.php

    I've decided to post here, because i feel it can help a lot of people in the future. It would need to be created of pinned a post with all content about SSD. People like me, that have little knowledge, can find the install of a SSD in a Alienware a nightmare. So here comes the steps i did:

    Just to remember: im only using the SSD, removed the HDD.

    1) In BIOS, i changed RAID to AHCI (now im only im AHCI);

    2) I burnt the ISO with RUFUS, but i did selecting the following options:
    - GPT to UEFI
    - NTFS

    Used this video as guide here:

    3) FIRST TIME trying to boot the new pendrive, a RED SCREEN appeared that it was something blocking the boot, and to me check Secure options;

    4) so i had to go to Boot option and DISABLE SECURE OPTIONS.

    Then windows booted by the USB pendrive, and automatically reconized my SSD (without installing intel rapid storage or anything else).

    5) After it installed windows normally, i went back to BIOS, and enabled again the SECURE OPTION, in Boot section.

    Now im installing everything else.

    Only have one question: do i haave to install the samsung drivers to obtain all the speed that the SSD offers, or not? Whats the name of that benchmark, so i can see if everything is working okay?

    I would like to thank @Vasudev for all the help and patience with me, in our private talk. Also would like to thank all the people who helped.

    Thanks guys !
