    Hello.
I've been the owner of an Alienware 15 R2 for the last 16 months, and while it has been working ok all this time, there are still a few annoying things that I would like to know if they can be fixed. (Most of the issues I had when I got it were fixed with drivers or firmware updates)

On of these annoying things is that every time the notebook is powered on, an error event in the System Event Log shows with the message:

The description for Event ID 56 from source Application Popup cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

    ACPI
    5

This problem persists after all the times I've reinstalled Windows. I've recently installed the Creator's Update deleting all partitions, and this error still is logged into the event viewer during the first boot.

It seems this error was common during the release of Skylake processors, and there are threads all over the Internet about it for boards from all manufacturers (Asus, Asrock, Msi, Gigabyte, Lenovo, etc) Most of them even believe that some reboots on their computers were related to this event happening, and several people got this issue solved after a BIOS update for their own board manufacturer. I thought Dell would eventually patch this also, but after all these months, and several BIOS updates it is still showing up..

What surprises me tough, is that nobody in this forum has talked about this issue happening in their Alienware notebooks. Am I the only one who has an Alienware with this symptom?
Has anybody found a solution that doesn't required a BIOS upgrade?

    Thanks.
