I haven't heard any issues with the Quadro 3100M. You can't just yank it, it's soldered onto the motherboard. You would have to change out the entire motherboard to go to Intel HD graphics.

ahhh, well it looked like the only solder point was on the cooling fins

the other parts should be removable with screws....

i guess i will run with it and see how it goes

maybe the drivers are good now, and all my hardware is ok

    *crosses fingers

Hi all, I've been getting to know my new E6510, but am a bit surprised at the lack of any decent manual.

I'm curious what some of the buttons do, for example Fn F3, the one with the blue battery....What gives?

Amazing to spend this much and not have access to a decent owners manual, ridiculous.

Thanks for your replies. Voostro, both links are the same, and neither details keyboard layout.

Thanks GK, I appreciate your posting that! Yes, I have pushed them, Fn+F3 and Fn+F8 appear to have zero effect. But it is at least good to know what they are SUPPOSED to do.

Fn+F3 doesn't work because you don't have Dell Control Point installed, OR you disabled that startup item responsible for the on-screen notification which also makes some of the special keys work. If you haven't did you try pressing on it a second time?

Fn+F8 switch display mode. You have an on-screen notification on which mode you are in from Windows. But it's only in Windows 7. You need a second source plug-ed in the laptop (VGA or DisplayPort) to have it working.
