well the 1st one had so many issues i returned it within the 30 day period. 2nd one came and after pro support tried to help me with the problems THEY concluded it was a bad system and sent me a replacement...so the replacement being the 3rd one, was actually configured incorrectly so sent that one back, and then the 4th is the current one i am using. keep in mind all of my returns happened within the 30 day limit. im glad this site exists because if not, i may have not had the knowledge to know that there is a systemic problem or thought that maybe Im the only one. so thanks for all who participate in these forums - its the best source for information and true honest feedback....it really really has helped me.

definitely yes. in my previous posts I noted the machine's capabilities are terrific. what I was never happy with was the expectation that somehow I should pay Dell for a machine with a fault. nobody should. buy a car with 3 flat tires...replacing the tires is a small price of the overall price of the car in percentage terms but still don't believe one should pay the full price given such a defect. the system itself is an A+ - even moreso now given that I have had (knock on wood) nothing at all happen (famous last words :p) and deadly silent without the coil whine. thanks again for anyone and everyone that has had an opinion on the system...the feedback is invaluable!

or maybe the paging memory that i disabled ...

About the sleep issue : this night everything went well , what i done : re allocated some paging file , that i have disabled .....since we don't really need it with 16 GB of ram during normal use , it is , think , what's used as a non volatile memory for sleep mode i guess ...

Don't manually manage paging memory. It made some sense back in the Windows XP era, but on versions of Windows since then, everything I've read indicates that Windows is better at managing memory than the user is, so at best if you manage it manually, your performance will be identical, but chances are it will be worse. Unless you absolutely can't spare the required storage capacity, just leave the paging file settings alone. There's also always the possibility that sometime while you own this system, you WILL start using a large potion of your RAM, and at that point you may end up with poor performance because you had previously disabled paging. And if by then you forget you had done that, you won't even know why you're experiencing poor performance, or maybe performance will seem ok but you won't know that it could be much better.

Update on my machine (Dell M3800 base model, win7)...

I returned it to DELL, and they sent me a new one. Everything seemed OK until yesterday (machine has been operating for 1 week) when the same issues I had on my old machine resurfaced.

    Issues:
    1) Battery was running low, plugged it in, battery meter jumped to 100% instantly. Unplugged it, meter dropped back down to low level, plugged it back in and battery began to charge again.

    2) Started up computer, plugged in mouse into usb port (call it port A), red LED on the bottom of the mouse illuminated, NO mouse control. USB to ethernet dongle plugged into a different USB port (call it port B) worked though because I was able to access the internet. I unplugged the mouse from port A and plugged it into the port B. Mouse still didn't work. Plugged ethernet into port A, no connectivity. Plugged ethernet back into port B (where it worked a second ago) and NO connectivity. Both ports inactive. Went to restart computer. It sat on the shut down screen for so long, windows crashed and I got a blue screen. Upon restart of the machine USB ports worked again. Keep in mind, it had to crash in order to work again.

I'm not sure if its an actual hardware issue. The returned machine and the current one both used the SSD (Samsung 830 2.5") I cloned from the original DELL HDD. I just removed my SSD from the returned laptop and placed it into my new one.

Any ideas? These are issues that I can live with for the most part but are just annoying.

Today i noticed some enoying :

when i handle the laptop with one hand (laptop open) , right hand , the pressure of my finger on the under make it crakle , and after opening it i noticed 2 things :

    1) the were some room due to 2 pin of the bottom cover that were used (even dead) , no more the right "form" to play their role

    2) noise comes form bottom cover touch the battery with plastic stick on the battery itself witch make this noise of plastic stick .....

anybody experienced that kind of weirdness ! ?
